Question 6
How effectively did the social, cultural, historical/political content of the piece communicate to your audience
well techiniually we have not performed it yet, however the social and historical/political content so far has been communicated in our lanuage. we have not used any modern terminoloigy. the attitutude of the priest's response should communicate to the audience the time as well as some of the confessions. like the gay friend. the hint of people not accepeting at that time should present an idea to the audioence of the time period.
we howver are aimming to communicate the setting of time period as it changes for each scene, as time progresses. the costume should communicate this.
i am playing a character in the 60's, 80's and 0's- or prox about tha time. so my costume will be differnt for them. in the 60's-70's i will be wearing something like this : flares belt tight at waist and trainers like converses and t shirt and jacket.
then 80's a flower dress of that time and high heels to match my characters insentives and traits. then for my final character i think the best would be ........... well chinco and the same as nic cus i play the priest as an older self.
do show the chacater is the same as the priest i think we should deveop a charcteristic that will make this clear to the audience such as a twitch or a scarctch.
Chloe - be careful to always consider your correct spelling, punctuation and grammar when you are writing your blog. This will make your life alot easier when it comes to collating your final write-up.
ReplyDeleteWhen you are considering the social/political and historical impact of the eras you are setting your play in, consider what was occuring at that time eg: who was in government? Social climate? Society? Historical events? Could any of these or HOW do any of these have an impact on the character's situation in your play?
Also - where is your blog write up from last week's character workshop (Thursday 1st Dec)???? You did some great exploration in the lesson - write it up before you forget!! Consider all the greater detail you discovered and explored with your character - this is all essential to building a more 3 dimensional character and will help you to develop your role.
