alannah's lesson and maddys woop woop

ok well
for alannah's we  were in a beauty shop and did an impro with stupid manicurist( nicola played well) and mum who' impaient and annoying restless child.
others had a bikini wax with a male model
then we did hot seating and found out useful information about our characters, which gave us a better understanding of it all together.
we then impro a scene with a business women, an impaient mum and a male model in a beauty salon waiting for thier appointment.
it worked out really becuase of peoples timmings.
then we did freeze frames to summerise this.

maddys

played a hard concentrating game which got us well concentrating...
then we looked at graphti images and had to impro a scene with a copper interviweing a graphitity artist. the scenes showed two completely different characters interacting. reserved  police officer -calm
then  a passionate artist who wanted to express something- idea for background in piece prehaps.
we also did a concelrling session with different people i was a waitress who was stuck in her job since she left school fed up of serving silly customers.

My lesson

warm up activity
story in a minute- three little pigs
Maddy  and David and Nicola were the little pigiesss :) and maria was the big bad wolf.
Alannah and Emily narrated the story, in a minute. The outcome was funny beacuse it was so rushed and people had to exagerate moves to make the story clearer.
did the same with little red riding hood

second task- taxi cab
emily driver takes on the personalitly of everyone else.
secretive british agent
snobby opera singer
hyper 4 year old
someone obbsessed with hygine and bananas
friendly over talkative old lady
other characters i thought were : ex army officer, Nun, an overworked elf from santa's workshop, a hippy style yoga teacher
Once someone get's in they have to take on the role of the new person. once the taxi is full, after a while the driver will stop to drop people off and they will take on the role of the person about to leave.
This exercise was good in seeing different variations of the same character, as other actors tried to mimic the orginal character's characteristic's not knowing who they were given.

in pairs:
confession box - confesser confess, priest comes up with some crazy reason to ask for forgiveness and perswade other person this is the right way. improvise from their

maddy and maria performed this very well taking on the role of the character in russian accents. They  worked on this for a short amount of time and came up with something which looked liked it had been rehersed for weeks. Very funny due to  the reality of the characters.
maria confessed about drinking vodka and having an affair.
maddy the priest then told her the only way for forgiveness was to douse herself in vodka and take pictures from different angles and give to the priest- trust these two to sexalise it....

flower shop owner serves an italian customer who speaks little english.
alannah and nicola played this very well taking on face expressions and gestures to replace the broken verbal communican.
Alannah unpleased throw everything other the shop and nicola the shop owner paniced and made it very humourous.

a car boot sale
an antique dealer( Emily) is browsing along and comes across a geezer(David) who is selling a very interesting antique which will make her rich at auction. she tries to con david as she does not think he is clever. David however knows it's worth alot but is not sure how much.

David was a natural carboot seller, the lanuage and  behaviour, completed the scene.
Emily was an incrediable antique dealer, you could tell straight away from her tone of voice and posture and the lanuage she used.

right last one.
lines from  the Tracy Emin exhibistion

they had to somehow get these lines in; they were in a tesco staffroom.

"everytime I see my shit"
" Just so fucking simple"
" i find your attitude a little bit negative"
"I can feel you smile"
" Journey across the road"
"out to lunch"

hope you enjoyed the lesson i really wanted to get like a murder mystery game but for a bank robbery in, however the online ones used more then the people we had. However maybe we can incorprate this somehow. interviews prehaps.

Monolouge - globe theatre guide

good morning ladies and gent and welcome to the famous GLOBE THEATRE. The theatre is most renounded for it's shape and hosting plays from the famous william shakespeare. Now beleive it or not this magnificent building we are standing  in front of has been built 3 times over in the same spot. Itw as first built in 1599,then was destroyed in a fire  in 1613. Rebuilt in the same month but was later closed in 1642 by the purtians. The english parliment issued an ordinance on the closure  of all stage plays as the strict religious views at the time forbidded them. Thankfully a mordern building was reconstructed in 1997 which is roughly 230 meters away from the orginial site. The globe was owned by it's actors and share holders. they perform shakespeare as well as mordern plays, this year they are performing this ( point to poster) standing tickets are only £5 and you can walk in and out with drinks.
Amphitheatres are the name for the Elizabethan theatres that folllowed the style of architectecture of a coliseum.
Theatre closed  due to bull and bear fighting industries suffering from the ever growing popular theatre industries.
Motto for the  theatre " Totus Mandus agit histrorean" which translates to the whole world is a playhouse
flags indicated theme of play. Black was tragerdy
                                             White was comedy
                                            red was history

Maria's and Emily's lesson- another great one!

ok welll today we  did the name/action game activity which got us focused for the lesson.

Then we had to walk around the room at different paces and act accordinly to the sernio( cant spell) given e.g heavy bag and limp. Through this we were able to develop particualr characteristic movements.
following this we were each given an objective and were told to come up with a sequence.so on...
later we were all given a person/characteristic to play.
me-pirate
maddy-cowboy
david-miss wilson
alannah-builder
nicola-bus driver
we then had to interact when told to, without knowing what the other person was given
the scenes were quite interesting as you had to go on characteristics and hints without letting on who you were.
then we were in pairs in a waiting room. me and emily were a couple, i was the over reactive panic attacker and she was the calm boyfriend. Maddy and david were nurse and doctor and thir was some romantic tension between them. nicola and alannah were recepist and alannah was proud of job, as nicola was a flirt.
the pairs interacted making for a joint impro. the sequence of events led on really nicely. sometimes the audience attention was drawn to one area of action due to it being lounder. This was a good way of keeping the audience attention as they could be engaged yet see what was happening in the background.

David's lesson

improvised scenes with a menu.
character's: me and maddy's scene: nervous lady comes back from bad interview and joins other  much smarter and successful lady in resurant.
Me and maddy's character's bounced well off each other i think because we had constrasting characteristics. The impro peice was funny too the audience becuase of facial expressions and timmed pauses. For our final peice i think it would be good to have a resurant scene becuase the meal is the stimulas for conversation and the audience can realte to it, keeping them engaged in the action.
