Question 6

Question 6
How effectively did the social, cultural, historical/political content of the piece communicate to your audience

well techiniually we have not performed it yet, however the  social and historical/political content so far has been communicated in our lanuage. we have not used any modern terminoloigy. the attitutude of the priest's response should communicate to the audience the time as well as some of the confessions. like the gay friend. the hint of people not accepeting at that time should present an idea to the audioence of the time period.

we howver are aimming to communicate the setting of time period as it changes for each scene, as time progresses. the costume should communicate this.
i am playing a character in the 60's, 80's and 0's- or prox about tha time. so my costume will be differnt for them. in the 60's-70's i will be wearing something like this : flares belt tight at waist and trainers like converses and  t shirt and jacket.
then 80's a flower dress of that time and  high heels to match my characters insentives and traits. then for my final character i think the best would be ........... well chinco and the same as nic cus i play the priest as an older self.
do show the chacater is the same as the priest i think we should deveop a charcteristic that will make this clear to the audience such as a twitch or a scarctch.

drama lesson and great idea

ok so this is my great idea................. see its brill. what i was thinking was that when people come into the 'theatre' they can light a candel if they like, and we can all be in black doing church things, like praying on peers and tyding the church handing out song sheets and welcoming people in.
For example one or two people could welcome people in, then we  would have one person  handing out song sheets and someone in back ground doing things like tyding. or  they can show people the candels.
we should have bell sounds ( church bells of course) befire we begin in order to start the performance and create the climax of the atmosphere. The candels would not only set the scene but would provide a peaceful attitude before people watch the play. The candels cause the audence ot think relgious breifly putting them in the right frame of mind in order to understand the peiece.
Today we did alannah and me but mainly alannah, it was fabolous they  worked really well. we came across problems which we plan to resolve such as: i always say "forgive me father, for i have sinned" so instead on my second one i say " hello farther would i be able to talk to you"
this suits the character better as she does not repent her sins.
another problem was that maddy was seated too much, so we thought prehaps someone could approach her while she was tyding the church and have a less uniformal confession.

i got idea from miss wilson( hi miss) about having something as we walk in becuase this is what they had in the hamlet play and it got the audience thinking.

Question 2

How effectively are you personally exploring and developing your role(s)?
 my role of younger priest
went t see a priest and spoke to her about past experiences
read articals aout priests.
also other charater like a con women who aggres to take money  from he church as she s desperate. Idea came from Doll's house by Ibsen, to be CONTINUTED....

hello again chloes back to blogging

 scenes are comming along nicely.

had a little issue today as when we were doing frozen images of the confessions.
soo the problem was we had shuffled around the actual scenes of confessions as we didnt want to actors to play a   two confessions in   consecitive order due to the timmings  and costumes. Therefore we rearamged the actual scenes which  meant that  we had to rearrange  the frozen images  of the      confession scenes. so we have re orderd   the scenes whhich is a little difficult because of the  order and transition.  however we  made  it through the lesson, and are now  getting their.
costume idea- reseach priest costumes
and we need to decde other costumes- dated costumes to fit with the times.
